Jonas & Jeanette

We have been performing, writing, producing and co-creating together for the past 10 years. Jonas originally came from a heavy metal musical background, touring with groups such as Aragathor and Random Damage, while Jeanette came from more of a Pop/CountryRnB background and had 6 international Country radio & CMT video releases. We met performing in a Neil Diamond Tribute band (Nearly Neil!) Yes, how cool is that?! Coming from two, totally different worlds, we were quite surprised by the magical and instant creative/musical connection we had. (That is what the song ‘Telepathy’ is about on our playlist and is the second song we ever wrote together).

Over the past few years, we have written and recorded a TON of music together with flavours of Rock, Dance, Pop, Disco, Inspirational and R & B. So we definitely have something for everyone! Some of our music is focussed around new thought and personal growth themes….. but it can definitely Rock in moments! (much to the credit of Jonas:) Check out: The Party Song and Jonas’ guitar solo in Hollywood Star!). Our album was recorded mainly in White Rock, BC and Montreal, Quebec, but we also had the opportunity to record some tracks in Malaysia, Florida, Toronto and the allegedly haunted, Dune Castle in Scotland!

In addition to writing, recording and performing our own original music, we are the creators/founders of Moon Coin Productions (www.mooncoinproductions.com), which encompasses many aspects of the entertainment field, including; Live Stage Show Production, Sound & Lighting Production, Event Management, Studio Recording and Music Composition. We have also developed various global initiatives, focused on helping to uplift human consciousness. Some of these include ‘Kindness ROCKS; (an initiative focused on tolerance, Kindness to self, others and our planet www.kindnessrocks.net) Our vision and purpose is to connect with and help people on a global scale; to contribute to our world in a positive way through the powerful gift and influence of music, creativity and entertainment.

Thomas Barquee

Thomas Barquee was brought up in a Protestant family and attended church frequently, drawn in large part to the sacred music, especially that of J.S. Bach. As a young child, he was also exposed to Beethoven and the Romantic composers, beginning his own study of classical piano and composition at age nine with an internationally renowned teacher in Hamburg, Germany.

In his mid-20s, Barquee was a busy recording session musician, toured internationally with his own bands, had a five year publishing deal with Warner Brothers, had a record deal with EMI Japan, and was well on his way to European/Asian pop stardom. But somewhere along the line the world of pop stardom ended up feeling empty to Barquee.

In search of new inspiration Barquee moved to Los Angeles in 1992, reinstating his dormant Kundalini Yoga practice (he had become a practitioner in India more than a decade earlier), and shifting his musical perspective to one more spiritually oriented.

He now records and performs his own style of sacred music, as well as producing many other artists. He was the producer, engineer and programmer for Game of Chants, as well as playing both keyboards and bass.

Ashana

Weaving together soaring, angelic vocals and the celestial sound of crystal singing bowls, Ashana’s music is an exquisitely crafted, luminous sonic tapestry that soothes and opens the heart, enfolding the listener in a transcendent experience of the Divine. This stunningly beautiful alchemy has been hailed by listeners all over the world as “breathtaking” and “a Gift from Heaven.”

Ashana’s CD recordings, “All Is Forgiven,” “Jewels of Silence,” and the newly released “Beloved”, co-written and produced by renowned world music artist Thomas Barquee (Snatam Kaur, Seal), are filled with sensitive and profoundly healing renderings of sacred song, chant and mantra inspired by the world’s traditions. Her intuitive vocal improvisations and crystal bowl playing are featured in the documentary film “The Sound You Feel: Vibrations of Healing,” released by Beyond Words, and have received international acclaim for their sensitivity, depth and beauty. Ashana’s live performances have been called “powerful” and “deeply transformative” and she travels across the US, Canada and abroad, offering concerts and sound healing workshops

Classically trained, Ashana graduated with a degree in vocal studies from the Mannes College of Music in New York City, and for years performed as soloist and ensemble member in New York’s early music scene. Moving from ancient to contemporary, she immersed herself in theater, jazz, pop and children’s music as performer, recording artist, songwriter and teacher.

For the last decade, she has been involved in a deeply personal exploration of sound healing and vocal toning, during which period she discovered and began playing quartz crystal singing bowls, instruments that are often used in contemplative practices to support healing, balance and well-being.

“For me, singing is a life path, a spiritual journey that has led to the very core of my being,” says Ashana. “Music can transport us, lift us to the place where we gently let go and open completely to receive and remember the divine heart that lives within each one of us, that truly lives in all beings. I have seen, felt and been utterly transformed by the power of sound and music to heal; it is a gift to us from the Source of Love – it is total, pure Grace.”

harmonium and conch shell.

From Canada to Colorado, California to Costa Rica, audiences are raving about the feelings they experience while listening to the otherworldly sounds of
American throat singer Matthew Kocel.
People consistently say they experience deep meditative states, even profound visions while listening. His music does not consist of songs, per se, it is more like a collection of meditations or sonic prayers for healing.

Denise Hagan

Denise Hagan is a sacred and inspirational performer dedicated to opening the heart of humankind through sound, story and song.

In her late twenties, a severe health condition called Denise to search deep inside herself in way she had never done before. Facing something that the world might call incurable, once again her music became that vehicle for healing and releasing the deep physical pain that she was in. At this huge crossroads, it became obvious to Denise that it was time to write more openly about her long time faith in the divine source of all life.

‘For those who hear…’ is the album that beautifully reveals Denise’s inner world at that time (2006). It seems to give voice to the inner listening of this young woman in a way that most writers would never reveal. It is a delicate and astute observation of her relationship with the divine source of all creation.

“I wrote this album to save my life, I cannot say it more plainly than that. I wrote these songs to comfort my aching heart and to give myself hope for a better day. I was smart enough to know that what was going on inside me was a matter between God and I – I wasn’t expecting a hero outside of me to arrive.”

“I recognized that I was the voice that would determine my survival in this world. I knew that the message I gave myself would either take my life or restore my life – the options were clear to me.”

Stefan Mitchell

Stefan Mitchell is emerging as the vocal artist of awakening consciousness on the planet. His rich, multi-dimensional vocal style, poignant lyrical tapestries and captivating stage performance give listeners the soul searing depth of a longed for spiritual connection. From the power that moves through his performances to his wry sense of humor, Stefan lives his belief that we are all made of one spirit. He feels that the deeper the recognition of that single spirit in our self and others, the better the planet will heal.

Stefan’s purpose in this work is to heal the planet one song at a time. It’s happening now. Stefan has been a presenter for spiritual organizations and metaphysical conferences throughout the U.S., Mexico and Canada. He has performed in New Zealand, the UK, Australia and Japan and shared the stage with internationally known personalities such as Deepak Chopra, Marianne Williamson, Barbara Marx Hubbard, Jean Houston and Dr. Jane Goodall. All over the world, people wonder how Stefan can make the tension between the deep spiritual reach of his songs and the playful, light-hearted way he approaches life resolve. Every concert receives a standing ovation. Or two. Or three! He humbly responds that it is just the very real way our Creator has manifested talent THROUGH a spiritual being having a delightfully physical experience here on earth.

Ten of these spiritually rich and reflective songs are on the CD, From Within, released in 2005. Stefan’s first original song is the title track. Perfect Mystery came next in 2006. Its upbeat pop/rock feel enhances the messages of hope and resolution of the human condition in a different way. Five original songs are the true substance of this work including Lean into Me,One Vibration Radio favorite. That song plus The Other Side of Letting Go and Remember to Breathe all made Boadjam.com’s top ten songs.
